Your objectivity/subjectivity point is enormous, Rory. I wish I had understood the difference a couple decades back while in the trenches as a financial industry sales team member.
I think the reason it's so key is that traditionally sales orgs are filled with hype and emo energy and objectivity/logic can easily be shunned. Hence short term overwork/burnout rather than long term sustainability.
